4 Common Ductless HVAC Noises in Henrico, VA
Running quietly is one of the common characteristics of ductless systems that make them popular among homeowners in Henrico, VA. However, a malfunctioning ductless system may produce loud noises. Below, we will discuss some ductless HVAC noises that mean something is potentially wrong with your system..
1. Banging
Loud banging noises from your system are unsettling and inconvenient. The sound is common when some components in your system loosen and collide with other parts.
2. Hissing or Whistling
Your ductless system has a special fluid called refrigerant that brings heat into your living space from the environment during winter and relays heat from your home into the environment during summer. The fluid must pass through a compressor, which raises its temperature and pressure.
When the refrigerant lines in which the fluid flows become damaged, the refrigerant often leaks out. This can produce a hissing/whistling noise as it leaks because it is under high pressure. Request a technician to repair the damaged refrigerant lines and recharge your ductless system immediately after you detect this noise, as a system with low refrigerant levels consumes too much energy and cannot satisfy your temperature needs.
3. Bubbling
Air bubbles can enter the refrigerant lines through damaged sections. These bubbles mix with the refrigerant and cause a bubbling sound.
4. Rattling
Loose cover panels and loose internal components may produce a rattling sound. Also, this noise may occur when sticks or other foreign items enter the outdoor component and fall in the way of the fan blades. Request a technician to fix the loose parts and remove any foreign items in your system.
It is not wise to turn a deaf ear to these noises. Call the ductless system experts at Classic Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning as soon as possible to have the underlying issues fixed.
